Writing at Phoenix is taught, utilising cornerstones.
This allows the pupils to immerse themselves more thoroughly in the wider curriculum and write for purpose.
Pupils follow a cycle in their writing:
Features, Modelling, Planning, Writing, Editing, Publishing
This embeds skills and enables the pupils to use words in context. Teachers model expectations, and pupil work is structured and differentiated to meet their individual needs. This allows for ongoing support and monitoring to encourage our pupils to achieve their potential.
